Jonathan Woodgate grabbed a late winner as Spurs picked up three vital points at the KC Stadium on Monday night.

Aaron Lennon gave Spurs the lead in the 17th minute, only for Hull defender Michael Turner to equalise 10 minutes late.

Spurs, who made 10 changes to the squad that lost to Shakhtar last week, played with greater purpose in the second half, and were rewarded when Woodgate rose to head home Benoit Assou Ekotto’s cross in the 86th minute.

The game produced a total of 24 corners- Hull had 11, Spurs had 13.

The result lifts Spurs two places up in the table, while Hull seem to be in danger of falling into the relegation quagmire. The Tigers have won just once in their last seventeen games after an impressive start to the season.
