Arsenal Nights-Injury, Recovery and a Transfer

July 22nd, 2009 by football writer

Its been Arsenal’s week with injuries, recoveries and transfers. Arsene Wenger’s brigade lies at the fourth spot in the Premiership Table with 72 points right behind Chelsea with an eleven points difference.

The bad news for the good old Arsenal is that 22 year old French midfielder Samir Nasri, who was bought from Marseille over to Arsenal in 2008, and who is a favorite at the Emirates Stadium, injured and fractured his right fibula during a pre-season training with his Arsenal teammates in Austria. He is going to be out for almost three months. Its definitely a shock to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal after seeing Nasri play for 44 matches with them.

The good news is that Thomas Rosicky, Czech Republic International midfielder is back to match fitness and is gonna play for the Gunners. The 28 year old was out of action for almost a year and a half after a knee surgery plus a hamstring injury, enough to keep him busy off the field at his home and missing him the entire 2008/09 Premier League football season. Now that he is back in business, he is training with the Gunners in Austria.

Arsenal’s 25 year old Togolese International player has been transferred to Manchester city. Manchester City proposed a 25 million pound deal to sign Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor also called Baby Kanu and Arsene Wenger allowed it. But there is no big fuss among the fans on his leaving the club. Manchester City is lying at the 10th spot in the Premiership table with 50 points. Now will it cost the Gunners their fourth spot after handing over a star player to its rivals, only time will tell.
