Tudgay May Ask for Transfer Request
The Sheffield Wednesday star Marcus Tudgay’s agent discloses that the player is thinking of giving a transfer appeal as he stands a chance of winning a move to Burnley.
A bid for the last season’s top scorer by the Clarets was rejected Wednesday as they look forward to transferring the player to Turf Moor. As Tudgay is confident of moving to the Premier League, he is looking for an opportunity to talk to Burnley.
Wednesday has accused Darryl Powell, the player’s representative, of trying to persuade him to make such a move. Charges have also been made against Burnley for unsettling Tudgay.
Powell admitted that Tudgay was considering all of his options for making his move to the Premier League favorable.
“Marcus wants to go to Burnley and he is disappointed that they have rejected a bid for him,” Powell told skysports.com. Powell also admitted that they were considering all possible options through which Marcus will get a chance to play in the Premier League, stating, “I plan to sit down with Marcus next week and we will decide what is best for him to do…Obviously handing in a transfer request is an option, and we will talk through all our options.”
According to Powell, Tudgay will not be signing the new deal on offer at Wednesday. He was also surprised with Burnley’s bid, which was to the tune of £2million. He also added that Marcus was willing to wait and see the proceedings and not sign the new deal on offer.
