Eredivisie football results- 7th February 2009
Here are the results from the Dutch Eredivisie, the premier football league in Holland for games played on Saturday, 7th February 2009.
AZ Alkmaar 3-1 Willem II ( Moussa Dembele, Maarten Martens, Mounir El Hamdaoui/Said Boutahar)
Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar recovered from the shock of conceding an early goal to win 3-1 against Willem II. It was AZ’s eleventh consecutive win, and they seem to be running away with the title this season.
Roda JC 0-1 Sparta Rotterdam ( Rydell Poepon)
A late free kick from Rydell Poepon allowed Sparta Rotterdam to beat Roda JC 1-0 at the Parkstad Limburg Stadium. The result ended Sparta’s 16 time winless run.
Heerenveen 3-1 NAC Breda ( Goran Popov, Arnar Smárason, Viktor Elm/Patrick Zwaanswijk)
Heerenveen kept pace with Ajax Amsterdam and Twente Enschede as they beat NAC 3-1 at home. The home side seemed to have put away the memory of their disappointing loss at the hands of Vitesse in midweek as they put in a convincing performance to win 3-1.
Heracles Almelo 1-1 NEC Nijmegen ( Vojtěch Schulmeister/Tim Janssen)
A late goal from Vojtěch Schulmeister rescued a point for Heracles Almelo at the Polman Stadium in their Eredivisie game against NEC. Tim Janssen had given NEC the lead on the stroke of half time, scoring from an excellent Rachid Bouaouzan cross.
