Premier League review
All three Premier League title chasers won this weekend as the chase for the Premier League crown hot’s up. Chelsea defeated West Ham 4-1 at Stamford Bridge to go temporarily top of the Premier League. Chelsea took the lead through a header from defender Alex before Scott Parker hit a superb equaliser for the visitors. Didier Drogba scored Chelsea’s second with a header from close-range.
Florent Malouda made it three for the home side in the 77th minute before Drogba scored his second late-on after a mistake from Robert Green. Arsenal stayed in the title race with a 2-1 victory over Hull at the KC Stadium. The Gunners took the lead on 16 minutes through Andrey Arshavin. However the Tigers equalised through a Jimmy Bullard penalty.
Hull were reduced to ten men just before half-time as George Boateng received his second yellow card for a reckless challenge on Bacary Sagna. Hull held on until stoppage when Gunners striker Nicklas Bendtner snatched all three points for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Champions Manchester United returned to the summit of the Premier League with a 3-0 victory over Fulham at Old Trafford. A second half brace from Wayne Rooney put United in control and Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov added a third to confirm United’s victory.
