Bayern Munich will take a 2-1 lead into the second leg of their Champions League clash with Manchester United. The English champions took just two minutes to take lead. Portuguese winger Nani’s free-kick from the right went over Martin Demichelis and Wayne Rooney volleyed home from six yards out.

Bayern equalised in the 77th minute, Franck Ribery’s poor free-kick took an unfortunate deflection off Wayne Rooney and beat Edwin Van der Sar. Lyon defeated Bordeaux 3-1 at the Municipal De Gerland. Lisandro Lopez gave Lyon the lead after 10 minutes, firing home from inside the six-yard box. Bordeaux equalised in the 14th minute through a Marouane Chamakh header. Lyon regained their lead as Miralem Pjanic’s cross was smashed into the net by Brazilian Michel Bastos.

Lyon extended their lead in the 77th minute from the penalty spot. Lisandro Lopez scoring after Matthieu Chalme was adjudged to have handled an effort by Ali Cissokho. Lyon now be heavy favourites to progress after this superb victory.
